The motifs:

At just 50 years old, The Child was still an infant of the same species as Jedi Grand Master Yoda. Just like Yoda, The Child too was force sensitive and because of this was desired by an Imperial who hired bounty hunters to track him down.

Commonly referred to as just 'The Mandalorian' Din Djarin is a well respected Bounty Hunter who inspired fear in the targets he was after. After being instructed to capture The Child and return him to an Impreial, Din Djarin soon started to form a strong bond with him and we saw his cold personality begin to dissolve as he changed his mission. It was now his duty to protect The Child and source a safe refuge for him to live out his life away from threat. 

After teaming up with Din Djarin IG-11, the ruthless droid bounty hunter, continues on his mission to track and terminate The Child. Just moments however before termination is completed Din Djarin shoots IG-11 before reprogramming him with a new mission - to protect The Child at all costs which ultimately results in IG-11's own tragic sacrifice.
